Hiplife legend Reggie Rockstone and his wife Zilla Limann have shared a humorous behind-the-scenes story explaining why American streamer IShowSpeed was unable to attend their popular waakye restaurant in East Legon during his Ghana tour.
The couple’s account comes after Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA) Deputy CEO Abeiku Santana revealed that their food joint was among the stops planned for IShowSpeed.
Waakye Prepared, but IShowSpeed Didn’t Turn Up
In a video shared on social media, Reggie and Zilla recounted how they had everything perfectly set up for the visit:
“So we were all set up, food was ready, music was playing, the atmosphere was ready, and we were waiting. Then we saw the video of the guy getting a massage from 10 beautiful ladies, and I said, ‘This guy ain’t coming back from there.’ If it were me, I wouldn’t go anywhere else,” Reggie laughed.
The couple revealed they initially received a cancellation notice from IShowSpeed’s team, only to later have his advance security arrive to prepare the venue, before finally being informed of the no-show.
“That boy was tired. He is human. When I saw all that he was doing out there, he would have probably collapsed. At least he knows about us, that’s all that matters,” the couple added.
A Lighthearted Jab at the Jollof Wars
Reggie also took the opportunity to poke fun at the ongoing Ghana-Nigeria jollof debates, emphasizing Ghana’s culinary pride:
“We have to stop the fight. We have our waakye, and we have to move with that narrative,” he said.
Despite the missed visit, the video shows that Reggie and Zilla remain upbeat, celebrating Ghanaian cuisine and the recognition their restaurant received during the streamer’s tour.
GhanaNews 24 will continue to cover IShowSpeed’s Africa tour and its impact on local tourism and cultural promotion.
