President John Dramani Mahama has inaugurated Northshore Apparel Ghana Limited at Savelugu in the Northern Region, marking another step in efforts to expand Ghana’s manufacturing sector and create employment opportunities for young people.
The facility is expected to contribute to the growth of Ghana’s garment and textile industry while supporting the government’s broader industrialisation and job-creation agenda.
The inauguration also highlights the increasing focus on promoting local manufacturing and encouraging private-sector investment outside the country’s major commercial centres.
Speaking at the event, President Mahama is expected to emphasise the importance of strengthening domestic production, creating decent jobs, and building an industrial base capable of meeting both local and international demand.
The establishment of Northshore Apparel Ghana Limited in Savelugu is particularly significant for the Northern Region, where increased investment in manufacturing could provide new economic opportunities for residents and help reduce unemployment among young people.
The apparel industry also has the potential to support local value chains involving textiles, logistics, packaging and other related businesses.
The facility forms part of the broader push to expand Ghana’s productive capacity and create an environment where businesses can invest, manufacture locally and compete in regional and international markets.
