Ho, Ghana — The Volta Regional Minister, Hon. James Gunu, has welcomed a delegation from the National College of Defence Studies (NCDS) as part of an ongoing research exercise focused on strengthening national cohesion, security, and sustainable development in Ghana.
The delegation, led by Brigadier General Eric Konadu, Deputy Commander of the National College of Defence Studies, paid a courtesy call on the Volta Regional Co-ordinating Council in Ho on June 15, 2026.
Research Focuses on National Cohesion and Security
The visiting team comprises senior military officers and participants from Ghana and several African countries who are undertaking field research under the theme:
“National Cohesion, Security and Sustainable Development.”
The exercise forms part of the College’s broader mission to generate strategic insights and policy recommendations that contribute to peace, stability, and socio-economic progress across Ghana and the African continent.
James Gunu Commends NCDS Initiative
Speaking during the meeting, Hon. James Gunu praised the National College of Defence Studies for its dedication to leadership development and strategic research.
He noted that institutions such as the NCDS play a critical role in shaping future leaders capable of addressing emerging security challenges while promoting sustainable national development.
