The FBI has released new images and videos of a masked, armed individual believed to be connected to the disappearance of 84-year-old Nancy Guthrie, mother of NBC news anchor Savannah Guthrie. Authorities are urgently seeking the public’s help in identifying the suspect.

“As of this morning, law enforcement has uncovered these previously inaccessible new images showing an armed individual appearing to have tampered with the camera at Nancy Guthrie’s front door the morning of her disappearance,” Patel said in a statement.

The footage shows the suspect approaching the home, examining the camera, and using vegetation to cover the lens before moving away. Investigators say this is the first major breakthrough in the case.

Savannah Guthrie shared the videos on Instagram, urging the public:

“Someone out there recognises this person. We believe she is still out there. Bring her home.”

Authorities are offering a $50,000 reward for information leading to the suspect’s identification or Nancy Guthrie’s safe return.

  • The home’s doorbell camera disconnected at 01:47 local time the night of her disappearance.

  • Motion was recorded by the camera software at 02:12, and her pacemaker disconnected from its monitoring app at 02:28.

Officials have received multiple ransom notes demanding payment in Bitcoin, with at least one previous deadline already passed. A hoax note last week led to one arrest, but authorities continue to treat all threats seriously.

The case has drawn national attention, including remarks from the White House. Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said President Donald Trump reviewed the footage and encouraged anyone with information to contact law enforcement.

“The prayers of this entire White House are with Savannah and her family at this time. We hope this person is found soon and her mother is brought home safely,” Leavitt said.
