Iran’s army chief, Amir Hatami, has issued a strong warning to the United States and Israel, saying any attack would have serious consequences. The statement comes amid heavy U.S. military deployments in the Gulf, raising tensions in the region.
Speaking on Saturday, Hatami stressed that Iran’s armed forces are “at full defensive and military readiness,” and cautioned that any misstep by foreign powers could jeopardize not only their own security but also the stability of the wider region.
“If the enemy makes a mistake, without a doubt it will endanger its own security, the security of the region, and the security of the Zionist regime,” Hatami said, according to the official IRNA news agency.
The remarks highlight growing unease over U.S. military movements near Iranian waters and underline Tehran’s commitment to maintaining a strong defensive posture. Analysts say Hatami’s warning is likely aimed at deterring any potential military action while signaling Iran’s readiness to respond if provoked.
The development comes as international observers continue to monitor the Gulf for signs of escalation, with tensions between Iran, the United States, and Israel remaining a critical flashpoint in Middle Eastern security.
